During the past week we have been reminded again of Jesus’ words to, “not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matt. 6:34).
I find it interesting the number of times the Bible reminds us of the importance of taking our worries to God.
When my mind heads in the direction of my worries, I tell myself that Christ’s power, strength and grace is available to me and I pray something like the prayer below. Why not make it your prayer as we enter another week together reflecting on Jesus’ Manifesto for the Kingdom:
“Father,
Help me to not give in to worry, stress or fear. I renounce them in Jesus’ Name!
Help me to live in your peace.
Help me to trust in the good work you have begun in me and in the fact that you will bring it to completion.
In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
“Do not be anxious about tomorrow.” – Jesus.
