Prince of Peace

Reading: “He is Prince of Peace and there will be no end to His peace.” (Isaiah 9:6&7)

To refer to Jesus as a Prince is just another way of saying He is a ruler and King, but He is no ordinary King. He is the King Who brings God’s Presence and with it, peace, fulfillment, and wholeness to a broken world and broken lives.

How can we have peace with God?

By understanding that God has a purpose for us – to be in relationship with Him, but that relationship has been broken by our sin.

By accepting the truth that we are sinners and that only the death and resurrection of Jesus can pay the penalty for our sin.
And there is one final step we must take. We must ask God to forgive us for our sin and put our trust (faith) in Jesus and what He has done.

When we take this step, Paul says, “We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1)

If you are ready to make peace with God, you can do so by praying a simple prayer like this one:

"Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen."

What should you do next?

If you have made peace with God, then please contact a church near you and ask to speak with someone who can help you with your decision. You can also contact us at Woodvale Baptist Church via mail@wbcinc.org.au and we will endeavour to answer any questions you may have or direct you to a church close to you.

If you have not made peace with God yet, what is stopping you?
