“Do to others what you would have them do to you.”
Do these words sound familiar? Of course they do! They were spoken by Jesus and recorded in the “Sermon on the Mount” in Matthew’s Gospel.
They’re also the words of “AI (Artificial Intelligence) Jesus” sent via direct text in response to a person asking, “How can I show kindness to others at work?”
AI Jesus platforms offer people the experience of talking or interacting with Jesus personally. One AI Jesus website describes it like this:
“Welcome, my children! I’m AI Jesus, here to answer your questions 24/7. Whether you’re seeking spiritual guidance, looking for a friend, or simply want someone to talk to, I’m here for you. Join me on this journey through life and discover the power of faith, hope, and love.”
One of the things I have noticed about AI Jesus is that He always speaks about “love, compassion, and forgiveness” and how we must “be mindful and respectful of ourselves and others.” (A friend of mine also noted that AI Jesus “is white, speaks in a calm American accent, and sometimes speaks of himself in the third person. He also likes to wave his right hand around …. a lot.”)
In other words, AI Jesus is a bland and wimpy imitation of the real Jesus.
I know intelligent and thoughtful people will not be taken in by stunts like this, but it’s a fact of life that many will be. We’re living in an age where uncertainty and anxiety rules the lives of many people and desperate for answers, they will turn to anything, even an AI Jesus.
Jesus warned us not to be led astray by others claiming to be Him and their false promises of “spiritual guidance.” Whether it’s a real person or an AI platform claiming to be Jesus, the result is still the same – disillusionment and dissatisfaction with life.
Thankfully, because of His death and resurrection, we can speak with Jesus personally every day!
Do you know the real Jesus, personally?
