At Woodvale Baptist, our purpose is drawn from what we regard as being two foundation scriptures for God’s people. These have been described as The Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-39) and The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). These encourage us as believers to love God and people well and to take the message of His love for all people as expressed through the Gospel.

At Woodvale Baptist, we believe that the Christian life is best lived in the companionship of like-minded people who know they are not perfect but in dependence on God and with genuine love for one another, are growing to be more like Jesus.

We see ourselves as a church that is:

A community of free people

We are set free from our sin through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.

A community of authentic and transformed people

We understand that we are not perfect but we are on a journey, becoming more like Jesus.

A community of faith people

We live a life of prayer dependence upon God, willing to take steps of faith that will fulfil God’s purposes for us.

A community of loving people

We welcome and love all people because we see them as fellow image bearers of God.

A community of sent people

We understand that we all have a responsibility and part to play in bringing people to Jesus.

This is the church we see. Will you join us?
